Denis Bond (MP)

Denis Bond (1676–1747), of Creech Grange, Dorset, was English Member of Parliament for Dorchester, Corfe Castle, and Poole. He was also a director of the Charitable Corporation at the time of its collapse. He was Recorder of Poole from 1719 until his death.^[1]

Family

Bond was the son of the wealthy barrister Nathaniel Bond, who came from a family who had been merchants in Dorchester, and bought Creech Grange in 1691.^[2] He married Leonara Sophia, widow of Edmund Dummer and daughter of the diplomat Sir William Dutton Colt. They had no children and Bond's estates passed to his nephew John Bond.^[1]
