Devorah Rose, born Deborah Denise Trachtenberg,[1] is an American socialite and the Editor-in-Chief of Social Life Magazine,[2] a New York City socialite, a television personality and entrepreneur. The New York Observer named Rose one of the top 50 Media Power Bachelorettes.[3] Rose has been described by The New Post as a “real life Blair Waldorf” and by The New York Times as “One part Lily Bart, one part Holly Golightly.”[4]
Life and career
Early life
Rose was born Deborah Denise Trachtenberg in Plano, Texas to a Venezuelan mother and Guatemalan father. She moved to Venezuela when she was three months old and moved back to the States when she was six or seven.[5] Rose was raised primarily in Newton, Massachusetts. Rose graduated from Barnard College with a bachelor's degree in English and later worked towards her MFA in Columbia University’s creative writing program.[6]
Social Life Magazine
Rose is the Editor-in-Chief of Social Life Magazine which has a six-time pass-along rate with a total readership of 315,000 per issue. She has produced covers with Kim Kardashian, Fergie,[7] Twilight star Kellan Lutz, Mena Suvari, Russell Simmons,[8] R&B star Ciara, heiress Lydia Hearst, Beth Ostrosky Stern,[9] Joe and Dani Jonas, Dylan Lauren, Christie Brinkley and James Metzger. Rose has represented the magazine on TV shows including, The Real Housewives of New York City.[10] In June 2011, she was profiled for her work in launching the magazine.[11]
TV Appearances
Rose appeared on TLC's American reality television series, Cake Boss, in which she had a $30 million cake studded with flawless diamonds made for her. The record breaking cake was baked Buddy Valastro and his crew specifically for the New York City socialite. "In order to reach the stupendous $30 million mark, Buddy Valastro and his crew had to make use of $30 million worth of jewels that included emeralds, rubies, sapphires and of course some flawless diamonds."[12]
Rose starred alongside Tinsley Mortimer in The CW's High Society, and her feud with Mortimer became a New York Post cover story. On Dina's Party, Dina Manzo dedicated an episode to decorating Rose’s Hamptons home.[13] Rose has also appeared on The Real Housewives of New York City, Married to Jonas, Styled by June, NYC Prep, The Fashionista Diaries, and MTV’s MADE.
