Dhol Somudur

Dhol Somudur in Bengali ঢোল সমুদ্র; It is situated at Baribathan village in Jhenaidah District. It is a historical place. it is also an attractive tourist place. Every year thousand of people visit this place. The number of visitor increase during different festival like Eid, Pohela Boishak, Happy New Year, Valentine's Day etc.

 There was a king in Jhenidah, named Mukut Roy. There were a lot of soldiers. He was not go out without 16 halka Elephant, 20 halka horse,and 2,200 koradaradid. The war of Baribathan, the king Mukut Roy was defeated the combined forces of the Nawab's and pathan army. Nawab's army captured the king Mukut Roy and was taken the capital. Knowing the identity of king, Nawab released him. But the king's family members thinking the king was dead,after known this everyone committed suicide. Her daughter's suicide space Konnadaho, Queen’s suicide space Dushotin, Astrologer’s suicide space Daibajnadaha name has been called. Which is known today.  The winter season, from different parts of the country, people Come here to picnic.
