Dildar Pervaiz Bhatti (30 November 1940-30 October 1994) was a multi award winning Pakistani television and radio host, professor and announcer. He worked as a teacher at Government College SahiwalGovt college Baghban pura Lahore and Govt. M.A.O College Lahore and then starting hosting shows at Radio Pakistan and Pakistan Television.[1]
Life and career
Dildar Parvaiz Bhatti was born on 30 November 1940 in Gujranwala, Pakistan where he attended early schooling. Bhatti started his career as an English professor.. He worked as a professor at Government College Sahiwal and MAO College Lahore. He began acting in television programs and stage shows in 1970s. He hosted and acted and hosted many television program including “Takra”, “Yadish Bakhair”, “Jawan Fikar” and “Mela”. He also wrote books “Amna Samna”, “Dildarian” and “Dilbar Dildar”.[2]
Death
In 1994, Bhatti was attending fund raising events with Imran Khan in United Kingdom, Canada and the United States. On 30 October 1994, after performing at an event in New York City, Bhatti died after suffering brain haemorrhage. A ward of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital & Research Centre was then named "Dildar" in his honour.[3]
