Dipatoli

Dipatoli (Hindi: दिपाटोली) is the cantonment area of Ranchi. It is situated on NH33 that connects Hazaribagh to Jamshedpur via Ranchi. The most of the area of Dipatoli is occupied by Army. It is the base to 23 Infantry, Indian Army. It is about 7 km from the center of the city.

Overview

The place is important as it is the gateway to the urban area of Ranchi. Many schools like Surendranath Centenary School, Kendriya Vidyalaya and Army School is situated in the boundaries of Dipatoli to cater the knowledge along with Usha Martin Academy. The market of Booty More Chowk act as the main market for the resident nearby. In 2008 Jharkhand War Memorial was also constructed in Dipatoli to honour the men of Jharkhand who sacrifice their lives for the dignity of the country. The Cantoment Area of Dipatoli have a large golf course, residence for armed force personal as well as different offices of army. Gymkhana Club is also situated in Dipatoli.
