Dr. Mahalingam College of Engineering and Technology (MCET) established in 1998 is a private, autonomous, self-financing, co-educational institution approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and is affiliated to the Anna University.[1] The college is located on the Coimbatore - Dindukal National Highway (NH-209) in 33 acres of land at Pollachi taluk. MCET was established in 1998.The college ranks around top 20.We alloted a one block for labs and it equals to a IIT bangalore.
Courses
The college offers eight Engineering and three Applied Science undergraduate programmes and six postgraduate programmes and two doctoral programmes.

The college offers eight undergraduate courses. The students are admitted by Single Window System based on their +2 marks.

Clubs
The College has several clubs for the development of extra curricular activities. Totally 12 clubs are functioning within the campus. They are Citizen Consumer Club , Fine Arts Club( Painting,Dance and Singing), Gyan-The Quiz Planet, Readers Club(Library Associate), Youth Parliament,Studio MCET(Photography) , Robotics and Learning Development Cell, Red Ribbon Club,Youth Red Cross, Muthamizh Manram (Tamil Language), Science Club, Environmental Club.
Hostel
The college has two hostels of which one is dedicated to women named Rukmaniammal Women's Hostel.
Students Guild of Service
One of the prominent feature of MCET is the SGS (Students Guild of Service) which students take the responsibility of organising all kind of events, symposiums, intra and inter college functions. The President, Vice President and other major posts are selected by interview by the faculty members.
