DriveTribe (stylised as D_TRB), is an automotive social media website featuring The Grand Tour presenters, Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond.
The website features different automotive-themed 'tribes' which people can create, join, post to, share content on and express themselves on.
Tribes
In addition to the tribes of Hammond, May and Clarkson ('Fob Jockeys', 'Carbolics' and 'Alfa Male' respectively), anyone can apply to create their own tribe. The community went live for early adopters a week ahead of the full release to allow new fan made tribes such as Convertible Fanatics (CF)[1] to reach maturity before the masses are allowed entry. Each tribe has a specific theme and members join whichever tribe fits their personal tastes.
Leadership and Fox investment
Tech entrepreneur Ernesto Schmitt is the CEO of the website. Financing for DriveTribe came from The Grand Tour producer Andy Wilman, Clarkson, Hammond and May, as well as Schmitt. 21st Century Fox has invested $6.5 million in the website.[2]
