Dr E.M. Sudarsana Natchiappan is a politician from Indian National Congress party is a Member of the Parliament of India representing Tamil Nadu in the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian Parliament.
He was also elected to the Lok Sabha from Sivaganga constituency as an Indian National Congress candidate in 1999 election.[1] He is Advocate in Supreme Court of India.[2]
E.M. Sudarsana Natchiappan has addressed the United Nations General Assembly on two occasions, both in October 2008. He was a part of the Indian delegation, and gave statements on UN peacekeeping operations and globalisation and independence.[3][4]
E.M. Sudarsana Natchiappan is co-founder and President of the Parliamentarian Forum on Human Rights.[5] The forum is a platform for members of parliament (MPs), cutting cross party lines, and catering for the need to discuss and act on human rights violations in the world in general and in India in specific. He became the Minister of State of Commerce and Industry on 17 June 2013.
