Earth in Planet 51

In the 2010 Spanish-British-American movie Planet 51, an American astronaut lands on an Earth-like planet, but the planet is populated by green human-like extrateterrestrials, but this beings lives in an era similar to the American 1950s and are very afraid by terrestrial-like "aliens" from their popular culture.

This is a list of Earth-related things in the movie.

Charles T. "Chuck" Baker

Chuck is the only astronaut in the mission launched for the exploration of Planet 51, a planet on the other side of the universe.

The small "spaceship" that Chuck uses to land is captured by government forces, then the American asks a teenager named Lem to take him to the spacecraft.

Landing module

"Earth, the final frontier!"
Chuck's quote during his escape from the Base 9 launch pad.
From left to right: the Soviet LK Lander and the U.S. Apollo Lunar Module.

Chuck call it "spaceship", but this is a very fast landing module, similar to an Apollo Lunar Module, an LK or an Altair, but is not divided in two stages, is lanched with a command module, a spacecraft orbiting over the planet.

The boosters of this spacecraft are very powerful and it is used by Chuck for to escape from the exploding Base 9.

Odyssey command module

Launched probably with a launch vehicle similar to an N1 rocket or a Saturn V, this is a robotic spacecraft used as a sort of Apollo CSM or a Soyuz 7K-LOK (but it's very similar to the Skylab space station and the Discovery from 2001: A Space Odyssey[1]) and is orbiting over Planet 51, it departs from the orbit about 74 hours after Chuck's escape from the landing module.

Rover

Rover is an A.I. wheeled probe, similar to a dog, it's projected for photographing rocks and beings on the planet and collecting objects.

He don't travel to Earth with Chuck, but remains with Skiff, a Lem's friend, as his dog.

Sputnik III

A Sputnik 3 replica.

Sputnik III is a Soviet geocentric satellite launched in 1958, captured by government forces and taken to Base 9.

The Humaniacs franchise

Some extraterrestrial filmmakers create this franchise a few years before the famous landing on the planet and the beginning of the film. The media franchise includes three films and some comic books that tell the story of an alien population similar to humans that attacks Planet 51. These monstrous astronauts have one huge eye, which acts as a blaster, and can hypnotize people.
