Elecpro UAVs are Chinese UAVs developed by Dong-Ying Wu-Tong De-Ao Helicopter Co., Ltd. (东营梧桐德奥直升机有限公司), a wholly owned subsidiary of Guangdong Elecpro Electric Appliance Holding Co., Ltd. (Elecpro, 伊立浦电器股份有限公司) headquartered in Nanhai District. Originally a major kitchen appliance manufacturer in China, Elecpro has recently expanded its business into aviation arena by purchasing Dong-Ying Wu-Tong De-Ao Helicopter Co., Ltd., its sister company from their parent company, Beijing Chinese Parasol Tree Soar Universe Investment Co., Ltd. (北京市梧桐翔宇投资有限公司).[1] Along with its manned ultralight manned helicopter, Elecpro UAVs made its public debut in November 2014 at the 10th Zhuhai Airshow.[2]

Unmanned coaxial helicopters

The literal translation of the name of the helicopters and UAV manufacturing subsidiary Dong-Ying Wu-Tong De-Ao Helicopter Co., Ltd. of Elecpro is Eastern Camp Chinese Parasol Tree German Austrian Helicopter Co., Ltd., and the reason for this rather unusual name for a Chinese firm is resulted from several factors: Eastern Camp is the literal translation of Dongying, where the subsidiary is headquartered. Chinese Parasol Tree is from the parent company Beijing Chinese Parasol Tree Soar Universe Co. Ltd., and helicopter in the name reflects the fact that all of aircraft produced are helicopters (as of 2015). German in the name of the subsidiary reflects the fact that all of its manned unltralight helicopters are based on German HTM Skytrac Skytrac and Skyrider technologies purchased from Mr. Peter Chrobak, a German gentleman for 2.52 million Euros.[3] Austrian in the name of the subsidiary reflects the fact that the company is the exclusive distributor of Schiebel Camcopter S-100 in China,[2] which constituted a major share of the subsidiary’s business prior to the production of manned aircraft. Based on the experience and knowledge gained from the manned aircraft, Elecpro indigenously developed its own UAVs. As of 2015, all manned and unmanned aircraft developed by Elecpro are unmanned coaxial helicopters.[4]
