Emby (formerly Media Browser)[1] is a media server designed to organize, play, and stream audio and video to a variety of devices.[2] Emby is open-source, and uses a client-server model.
Two comparable media servers are Plex[3] and Windows Media Center.[4]
Emby Server and clients have been developed for Windows, Linux, OS X, FreeBSD. Mobile clients have been developed for Android, iOS, and Windows Phone.[5][6]
