Essential Collection Last Train Home
Essential Collection Last Train Home is the first greatest hits album by American jazz fusion band Pat Metheny Group. It was released on March 4, 2015, by Nonesuch Records, and released in Japan. The album serves as an introduction to the band after the use of their 1987 song "Last Train Home" as the ending theme music of the anime adaptation of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, during the second half of the show's Stardust Crusaders arc. As such, the album artwork features stills from that arc of the anime.[1][2] Last Train Home contains selections from the band's albums released by Geffen Records and Warner Bros. Records, spanning 1987 to 2002, excepting the 1996 album Quartet. Though a few of the Group's songs have been collected on Selected Recordings, an compilation of Metheny's more popular tunes, this is the first compilation album dedicated entirely to Pat Metheny Group itself.
