Ever Oasis is an action-adventure role-playing video game developed by Grezzo and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 3DS video game console. It is planned to release worldwide in 2017.
Plot
Ever Oasis tells the story of Tethu, a young seedling who must create a village in the middle of the desert to serve as a launching point for a quest to find their older brother, who has been spirited away by the forces of Chaos.[2] Tethu may be male or female.[3]
Gameplay
In the game, players try to build a prosperous oasis by completing missions in dungeons and caves in the desert. In the desert, players form a party of three characters and battle enemies that are possessed by mysterious Chaos in real-time combat as they switch between the three party members. Players forage for materials in caves and puzzle-filled dungeons to earn dewadems, a form of currency, which are used to grow new shops and new gear. Members of other tribes who the players meet in their journey can help by joining on new missions or establishing a new shop in the oasis. Here, new products can be made from materials found in the dungeons. These materials can also be used to synthesize equipment and items at the player's treehouse.[4] The game is influenced by ancient Egyptian aesthetics.[5]
Development
Ever Oasis was announced on June 15, 2016 at the Electronic Entertainment Expo, during the second day of Nintendo's Nintendo Treehouse livestream at the event. An announcement trailer was shown and a demo with mission gameplay was played on stream, although the game was not playable for the public at the event.
