Everest Group is a global management consulting and research firm that advises clients on global services issues. Founded in 1991[1] in Dallas, Texas, the firm today ranks among the leading advisors of global services.

Organization

Established in 1991, Everest Group serves users of global services, providers of services, country organizations and private equity firms, in six continents across all industry categories.[2] The firm has six offices across four countries: Dallas, Gurgaon, Bangalore, London, New York City, and Toronto.[3]

History

In May 1991, Everest Group is founded with two employees as a software company to help manage large outsourcing transactions with a vision to improve outsourcing services. In an office by Addison Airport in Dallas, Texas , the company is guided by the mission to help clients improve their performance by delivering high-value insights, information and services;. The mission remains the same today.[4]

In 1992, Everest Group becomes the first third-party adviser (TPA) on a mega-deal involving Boeing and IBM.

In 1993, Everest Group transitions to a third-party intermediary consulting firm to help rebalance the playing field between service providers and buyers.

In 1995, Everest Group acquires the Outsourcing Center (previously known as Infoserver) and makes an early move to gain Internet presence. Everest Group advises on the first multi-process HRO deal.

In 1996, Everest Group advises on the first multi-process, single-supplier BPO transaction.

In 1999, Everest Group launches the Outsourcing Exchange, an online transaction management system. Everest Group opens office in Australia.

In 2000, Everest Group begins work on a major BPO project for a large Canadian bank. Everest Group is an advisor in the major outsourcing deal between PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and Nortel Networks Corporation valued at US$625 million.

In 2001, Everest Group shuts down the Outsourcing Exchange to refocus its strategy and redefine company culture, dropping software from its services to concentrate on high-end TPA. Everest Group advises on the largest HRO deal in Canadian history.

In 2002, Everest Group opens an office in Toronto. Everest Group implements Joint Design methodology.

In 2003, Everest Group opens an office in Delhi.

In 2005, Everest Group opens an office in London. Everest Group recognizes the global sourcing market was maturing and begins developing alternative service offerings and repositioning itself according to new value drivers. The Total Value Equation methodology is developed to look beyond cutting cost. Everest Research Institute is launched. Everest Group starts serving service provider clients.

In 2007, Everest Group works with its first country association, South Africa.

In 2008, Everest Group launches Market Vista, a breakthrough quarterly report that provides a comprehensive look into the key forces and metrics defining the market: outsourcing trends, health of the captive model, provider developments, and location risks and opportunities. Everest Group and NASSCOM jointly release the findings of the landmark study on India’s BPO industry, titled, NASSCOM-Everest India BPO Study - Roadmap 2012 - Capitalizing on the Expanding BPO Landscape. Katrina Menzigian, Everest Group’s Vice President, is named one of FAO Today's 2008 FAO Superstars. Robert Joslin, Partner at Everest Group, is named a board member of the Centre for Outsourcing Research & Education (CORE), beginning his three-year term. Everest Group announces Outsourcing Support Services (OSS) designed to assist strategic sourcing organizations in managing and optimizing their outsourcing efforts. The OSS offerings include tools, decision support and workshops.

In 2010, Everest Group begins using tagline “From insight to action” to describe the value it offers clients in providing original research that helps inform strategic and long-lasting value-based initiatives. Everest Group launches the Sherpas in Blue Shirts blog to provide insights to help guide organizations in overcoming challenges and achieving ambitions related to the global services terrain.

In 2011, Everest Group announces its focus on "next generation global services," acknowledging its specialized expertise in helping Global 1000 firms dramatically improve their performance by optimizing their back- and middle-office business services. Through its practical consulting, original research and industry resource services, Everest Group helps clients maximize value from delivery strategies, talent and sourcing models, technologies and management approaches. Everest Group launches the Gaining Altitude blog with a focus on next generation IT services, such as Cloud. Everest Group divests the Outsourcing Center. This divestiture further clarified to the marketplace that Everest Group’s focus is on providing consulting, research and resources for "next generation" global services practices – rather than those focused solely on outsourcing.
