Express Cove
Express Cove (60°42′S 45°39′W / 60.700°S 45.650°WCoordinates: 60°42′S 45°39′W / 60.700°S 45.650°W) is a small cove north of Foca Point on the west coast of Signy Island, in the South Orkney Islands. It has a very indented shoreline with numerous offshore islands and rocks. It was roughly charted in 1933 by Discovery Investigations personnel, and surveyed in 1947 by the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey. It was named by the UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee for the American schooner Express, Thomas B. Lynch commanding, which visited the South Orkney Islands in 1880.[1]
