Farkas (Hungarian: Wolf) is a Hungarian surname or a given name (the last corresponds in the Catholic tradition to the German name Wolfgang). It comes from the translation of the Yiddish personal name Volf meaning 'wolf', an ornamental adoption of the Hungarian word.
