Flowerdale, Tasmania (Australia) is a rural community in the Waratah-Wynyard municipality. Significant geographic features include the Flowerdale River which flows into the Inglis River, leading out to the ocean via the town of Wynyard. At the 2006 census, Flowerdale had a population of 402.[1]

The Flowerdale valley is constituted of mostly dairy land, which is a major industry of north-west Tasmania. Flowerdale is also known for its pristine hills, scenery and Landcare-based community environmental recovery programs.

History

Flowerdale Post Office opened on 1 March 1891 and closed in 1981.[2]
