Foil Arms and Hog are an Irish sketch comedy group with members who are all friends from the Rathfarnham suburb of Dublin in Ireland.[1] They perform on TV, radio, the stage and YouTube. Popular sketches by the group include 'How to Speak Dublin', 'A Kerryman Gives Directions' and 'The Ryanair Song'. Foil Arms and Hog do not have a specific genre, and often make random sketches that are occasionally topical. The trio now has their own radio show on 98FM.[2] The group's name evolved from nicknames each of the members had for each other, and they had to come up with something really quickly.

History

The comedic sketch group was founded on April 12, 2008 while they were still in University College Dublin studying Architecture, Engineering and Genetics.[3] As the recession took hold, the group saw that there were no jobs available for the specific fields they had studied in college for. Despite living within walking distance of each other, it was only until their college years that they became friends.[1]

The group have experienced some popularity in Ireland, and tour across Ireland and the United Kingdom,[3] including sell-out shows at the Edinburgh Fringe over seven years.[4][5] According to the group, they create videos to encourage viewers to attend their shows.
