Free Wood Post is a News Satire website. It is an online satirical take on current affairs featuring fake stories about politics, pop culture, and the marketplace. The website has been emerging and growing since the fall of 2011 and has been featured and debunked by several sources including; Snopes.com,[1][2][3][4][5][6][7] Forbes.com,[8] UrbanLegends.about.com,[9][10][11] as well as several others. Free Wood Post has a readership of over 14M views and counting.
Web Publication
Free Wood Post's disclaimer cites that it is a news and political satire web publication, which may or may not use real names, often in semi-real or mostly fictitious ways. All news articles contained within FreeWoodPost.com are fiction, and presumably fake news. Any resemblance to the truth is purely coincidental, except for all references to politicians and/or celebrities, in which case they are based on real people, but still based almost entirely in fiction. The website intends its material for a mature, sophisticated, and discerning audience.
History
Free Wood Post began in September 2011. After its first year, the website garnered over 3 million views and is vastly growing within the political and comedy world.
