Georgia's 6th congressional district special election, 2017

A special election will be held in 2017 to determine the member of the United States House of Representatives for Georgia's 6th congressional district. Incumbent Representative Tom Price has been nominated by President-elect Donald Trump as United States Secretary of Health and Human Services.
Georgia's state law requires the Governor of Georgia to call for a special election to be held at least 30 days after the vacancy. Price has not yet resigned. In the special election, all candidates will run on one ballot. If no candidate earns 50% of the vote, a runoff election will be held for the first- and second-place finishers.[1]
Republican State Senator Judson Hill has declared his candidacy.[2] Other Republicans who could run include State Senators John Albers, Dan Moody, and Brandon Beach, State Representatives Betty Price, Jan Jones, and Chuck Martin, former Secretary of State of Georgia Karen Handel, College Republican Leader Cade Joiner, attorney Charles Kuck, businessman Bruce LeVell, and Johns Creek Councilwoman Kelly Stewart. Potential candidates from the Democratic Party include State Representatives Scott Holcomb and Taylor Bennett.[1]
