Ghassan Issa

Ghassan Farid Issa is the Dean of Information Technology Faculty at Petra University in Amman, Jordan.

He received his BS degree in Electrical engineering from University of Toledo in 1983, and the BS in Computer engineering from Trine University, Indiana in 1984. Ghassan Issa received his M.S and PhD in Computer Science from Old Dominion University, Norfolk Virginia in 1987 and 1992.

Career

Issa's career in education started in 1990 as an instructor of Computer Science at Virginia Commonwealth University. In August 1992, Issa moved to Williamsport, Pennsylvania to assume a position as an assistant professor of Computer Science at Pennsylvania State University, Williamsport campus.

In 1994-1995 Issa returned to Jordan where he joined the Applied Science University in Amman. He served at ASU as an assistant professor, associate professor, director of the Computer Center, founder and director of ASULINK Internet Service Provider, founder and director of ICDL Certified Center, and the Dean of the Computer Science College. In 2007, Issa moved to Petra University and was assigned the duties of the Dean of Information Technology, chief coordinator for the university's e-learning strategy, along with other duties including memberships of redundant - the present tense of the verb indicates the current condition - "currently" adds nothing hereuniversity committees and councils.
