Giuseppe Eskenazi

Giuseppe Eskenazi (born 1939, in Istanbul) is an oriental art dealer working at the high end of the market, selling to museums and ambitious collectors. He and his father set up a London office in 1960, buying for the father's antiques business in Milan. In 1993 he opened an art gallery in London. In 2007 he sold a rare Cézanne watercolor of a melon he had collected personally for US$25.5 million. He belongs to a Sephardic Jewish family which moved from Istanbul to Milan. When he was 13 years old, his father Isaac sent him to England to be educated. He speaks six different languages.[1]
