Greensboro Cultural Center
The Greensboro Cultural Center is home to many arts-related programs in Greensboro, North Carolina. It was founded in 1970.
Facilities
The Center is a four story building plus a basement and is located at 200 North Davie Street.[1] It includes 11 visual arts and performing arts organizations, four art galleries, rehearsal halls, a sculpture garden, a privately operated restaurant with outdoor cafe-style seating and an outdoor amphitheater.[2]
Affiliates
Groups affiliated with the Center include African American Atelier Inc., The Art Alliance of Greensboro, ArtQuest at GreenHill,[3] Center for Visual Artists - Greenhill,[4] The Guilford Native American Art Gallery[5] and The Piedmont Print Co-Op.[6][7]
Dance, orchestra, chorus, and opera groups also meet at the Cultural Center.[8] The School of Greensboro Ballet is located at the Center.
Programs
Year-round classes are offered in dance, drama, music, and visual performance.[9]
Festival Park
Adjacent to the Cultural Center is the Price-Bryan Performance Place at Festival Park. This area hosts many outdoor gatherings for the community, such as the Piedmont Blues Festival, the Mosaic Festival, and the Beach Music Festival. During the winter, much of the area is converted into an ice-skating rink.
