Ground out (baseball)
A ground out is a method of putting out a batter in baseball.
Method
A batter is Grounded Out when a ball hits the ground immediately after being batted, commonly an infielder grabs the ball and then throws it to first base to complete the out. It is commonly thrown to first base but exceptions may be when a player is located in first base, second base, or third base or trying to complete a double play or triple play.
