Hans Stockfleth

Hans Stockfleth (1600s – 19 February 1664) was a Norwegian civil servant and merchant. He was a son of Danish merchant Eggert Stockfleth, was a brother of bishop Henning Stockfleth, and an uncle of diplomat Christian Stockfleth. Stockfleth was appointed bailiff of several districts. By exploiting his position as bailiff to achieve personal wealth, he eventually came to be among the largest sawmill owners in Norway. He served as mayor in Christiania from 1643 until his death.[1][2]
