Dr. Hargovind Laxmishanker Trivedi is an Indian nephrologist, the director of G. R. Doshi and K. M. Mehta Institute of Kidney Diseases and Research Centre[1] and a former member of faculty of B.J. Medical College, Ahmedabad.[2] He comes from Ahmedabad, in the Indian state of Gujarat,[3] had higher training for two years in the Cleveland Clinic, in USA, and practiced for eight years in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.[4] A routine visit to his native place is reported to have changed his focus and he stayed back in Ahmedabad to continue his practice in India.[4]

Trivedi, who has published several articles in peer reviewed national and international journals,[5][6] was honoured by the Government of India in 2015 with Padma Shri, the fourth highest Indian civilian award.[1][7]
