Hemalkasa is a village in the Bhamragad taluka of Gadchiroli district in Maharashtra State, India.[1]
It belongs to the Madia Gond community.[2]
Hemalkasa is where the famous Magsaysay Award-winner couple Dr. Prakash Baba Amte and Dr. Mandakini Amte manage the Lok Biradari Prakalp project.[3]
In popular culture
A biopic film, starring Nana Patekar as Dr. Prakash Amte and Sonali Kulkarni as Dr. Mandakini Amte, Dr. Prakash Baba Amte - The Real Hero, released on 10 October 2014.[4] It has been released in Hindi, Marathi and English and shows the life of the living legend.
