Hempstead High
Hempstead High is the second & final album by A+, released on March 23, 1999. The title is taken from his local high school in Hempstead, New York and symbolized his growth since his first album, The Latch-Key Child (released in 1996 at age 14). The albums thematics were generally light with a focus on a good-time party theme mixed with standard braggadocio. A+ released this album after a three-year hiatus. This album contained A+'s biggest hit to date, "Enjoy Yourself", which peaked at #63 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #50 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks and contained a sample from "A Fifth of Beethoven" by Walter Murphy. The album itself peaked at #60 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and #19 on the Top Heatseekers.
