The Katherine K. Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts (HIDA) at Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona was created in 2009 by the merger of two existing academic units, the Herberger College of the Arts and the College of Design. The Arizona Board of Regents approved the merger On April 30, 2009.[1] The Herberger Institute comprises five schools: the School of Art; the School of Arts, Media + Engineering; The Design School; the School of Film, Dance and Theatre; and the School of Music. It also houses the ASU Art Museum.[2]
"Built on a dynamic combination of disciplines unlike any other design and arts school in the nation, the ASU Herberger Institute connects, fuses and merges disciplines. Choose from architecture, art, dance, design, digital culture, film, theatre, music and more, or create your own unique plan of study with our cross-institute degrees, minors and certificates." [3]
