Hersha Hospitality Trust is an American real estate investment trust, publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange.[2]

History

Hersha was founded in 1984 by Hasu P. Shah. Shah was an immigrant engineer who moved to Pennsylvania for a government job.[1] He began the company with the purchase of a single hotel in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, naming the company after his wife.[1]
