Histiodraco velifer is a species of barbeled plunderfish native to the marine waters around Antarctica where it is found at depths of from 210 to 667 metres (689 to 2,188 ft). This species grows to a length of 19.2 centimetres (7.6 in) TL. This species is the only known member of its genus.[1]
