Hyettus (Boeotia)

Map of Ancient Boeotia (in Greek)

Hyettus (Ancient Greek: Ὕηττος - Hyettos) was a village in Boeotia, ancient Greece. It was located near the Lake Copais, at 7 stades from Olmones and 20 stades from Cyrtones. There was a temple of Heracles in the village.[1] The village was named after the mythological figure Hyettus from Argos, who fled to this area after he killed his adulterous wife.[2]
