InsideTrack supports colleges and universities in increasing student enrollment, persistence, and graduation rates. The company was founded in 2001 by Alan Tripp, who also founded SCORE! Educational Centers, and is based in San Francisco, California, with additional operations in Portland, Oregon and Nashville, Tennessee.

They were named one of the 10 most innovative companies in education by Fast Company (magazine) in 2013.[1] Also in 2013, a study documenting the impact of their work, conducted by professor Eric Bettinger of the Stanford Graduate School of Education and Rachel Baker of University of California Irvine was published by the American Educational Research Association.[2]

The company provides coaching programs, analytics, technology and management consulting services to many types of educational institutions including public and private universities, community colleges and distance education programs.[3]
