The FIRS Intercontinental Cup is a roller hockey competition, organized by the CIRH within the Fédération Internationale de Roller Sports and contested between the winners of the CERH European League and the CSP South American Club Championship — a format similar to the football Intercontinental Cup, but sanctioned by the governing body, differently from the football competition that was not sanctioned by FIFA. By 2006 , the CIRH tried to establish a World Club Championship, but that competition was quickly discontinued in favor of the Intercontinental Cup (the only intercontinental club competition in roller hockey).
