Iris Capital is a venture capital firm, specialized in the digital economy, primarily active in Europe. Since its creation, the Iris Capital team has invested more than a billion Euros in over 230 innovative companies.[1] Iris Capital is sponsored by Orange and Publicis since 2012.[2]
Overview
Created in 1986 within the Caisse des Dépôts, the team was spun off in 2003 and became Iris Capital.[3] Investing internationally since 1991, Iris Capital has always held a sector-specific strategy covering media, telecommunications, information technology and Internet services, which have converged into today's digital economy.
Geographical reach
Iris Capital has invested in over 20 countries (of which 18 in Europe) and is mainly active in continental Europe, with a core activity in France, Germany, Benelux and Switzerland. Iris Capital acts as lead investor or in some circumstances as value-added co-investor, with its global footprint helping portfolio companies develop internationally.[4] Moreover, Iris Capital in the Middle East is the fund manager of STC Ventures, the corporate venture fund of Saudi Arabian telecom operator, STC.[5] Iris Capital has offices in Paris, Düsseldorf, Montreal, San Francisco, Beijing, Tokyo, Riyadh and Dubai.[6]
