Irshad Kamil is an Indian Hindi/Urdu poet and lyricist [1] best known for writing songs for Bollywood films including Jab We Met, Chameli, Love Aaj Kal, Rockstar,[2] Aashiqui 2 and Raanjhnaa.
Career
After writing scripts for soaps such as Na Jaiyo Pardes and Kahan Se Kahan Tak, his first assignment in Mumbai was writing dialogue for Manish Goswami’s Kartavya. Soon followed Drishtaant, a serial produced and directed by Pankaj Kapur. Brought to Mumbai by producer Lekh Tandon, Kamil later worked with musician Sandesh Shandilya.[3]
