Jacek M. Gałązka (born 28 April 1924) - soldier of the Polish Armed Forces in the West, publicist, émigré activist and president of the Józef Piłsudski Institute of America in the years 1999–2008.

Biography

He was born on 28 April 1924 in Wilno, Poland (now Vilnus, Lithuania). Alumnus of the Cadets Corps in Rawicz. From 1942 he was a soldier of the Second Motorized Regiment of the First Armored Division of the Polish Armed Forces in the West.

He studied economics at the University of Edinburgh. He moved to the United States in 1952. Founder of the Polish Heritage Publications. Publisher of Polish literature in English.

He worked for the company Charles Scribner's Sons, eventually advancing to become its president. Translator of works by Stanisław Jerzy Lec, e.g. Unkempt Thoughts. Co-author of the Polish Heritage Travel Guide to USA & Canada. President of the Józef Piłsudski Institute of America in the years 1999–2008.
