Jaime Fernando Thorne León served as the Defense Minister of Peru under the administration of President Alan García Pérez.
Biography
A lawyer, he was the President of the Peruvian National Institute for the Defense of Competition and the Protection of Intellectual Property, a.k.a. INDECOPI, until he was appointed as Minister of Defense by President Alan García in September 2010.[1] He is also the uncle of Juan Luis Cipriani Thorne; bishop of Lima, member of Opus Dei and member of the Peruvian Thorne family.
