Jalpaiguri Sadar subdivision is a subdivision of the Jalpaiguri district in the state of West Bengal, India. It consists of Jalpaiguri municipality and Mainaguri municipality and four community development blocks: Jalpaiguri, Maynaguri and Rajganj, Dhupguri The four blocks contain 62 gram panchayats and five census towns. The subdivision has its headquarters at Jalpaiguri City. Siliguri municipal corporation, which lies mainly in Darjeeling district, has 14 out of 47 wards located in this subdivision.

Area

Apart from the Jalpaiguri City Municipal Corporation and the Mainaguri city municipality, the subdivision contains five census towns and rural areas of 58 gram panchayats under three community development blocks: Jalpaiguri, Mainaguri, Dhupguri and Rajganj.[1] The five census towns are: Domohani, Takatuli, Rajganj, Belakoba and Ambari Falakata. Jalpaiguri block

Rural area under Jalpaiguri block consists of 14 gram panchayats, viz. Arabinda, BoalmariNandanpur, KharijaBarubariI, Paharpur, Bahadur, South Berubari, KharijaBerubariII, Patkata, Baropatia Nutanabos, Garalbari, Mondalghat, Belakoba, Kharia and Nagar Berubari.[1] There is no urban area under this block.[2] Jalpaiguri police station serves this block.[3] Headquarters of this block is in Jalpaiguri.[4]

Mainaguri block

Rural area under Mainaguri block consists of 16 gram panchayats, viz. Amguri, DomohoniI, MadhabdangaI, PadamotiII, Barnis, DomohoniII, MadhabdangaII, Ramshai, Churabhandar, KhagrabariI, Maynaguri, SaptibariI, Dharmapur, KhagrabariII, PadamotiI and SaptibariII.[1] Urban area under this block consists of one census town: Mainaguri.[2] Maynaguri police station serves this block.[3] Headquarters of this block is in Mainaguri.[4]

Dhupguri block

Rural area under Dhupguri block consists of 16 gram panchayats, viz. BanarhatI, SalbariI, JharaltagramI, SakoyajhoraII, BanarhatII, SalbariII, JharaltagramII, Barogharia, Gadhearkuthi, MagurmariI, Binnaguri, GodongI, MagurmariII, Chamurchi, GodongII, SakoyajhoraI.[1] Urban area under this block consists of two census towns: Banarhat Tea Garden and Gairkata.[2] Dhupguri and Banarhat police stations serve this block.[3] Headquarters of this block is in Dhupguri.[4]

Rajganj block

Rural area under Rajganj block consists of 12 gram panchayats, viz. Binnaguri, FulbariI, Majhiali, Sannyasikata, DabgramI, FulbariII, Mantadari, Sikarpur, DabgramII, Kukurjan, Panikauri and Sukhani.[1] There is no urban area under this block.[2] Bhaktinagar and Rajganj police stations serve this block.[3] Headquarters of this block is in Rajganj.[4]
