Early life

Stewart was born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario. He attended Katimavik Elementary School and graduated high school at Earl of March Secondary School in 1997. He attended Algonquin College from 1998-1999 and earned a diploma in Small Business Management. As a youth, Stewart was very athletic. He started training in martial arts at the age of 9, and between 1987 and 1991 he trained in Jiu-Jitsu under Sensei Randy Cooligan. In 1995, Stewart moved on to American Sport Karate under Steve "Nasty" Anderson, where he went on to earn a black belt. Stewart also played competitive soccer between the ages of 10 and 13, before taking on competitive baseball until the age of 17.

Martial arts career

In 1998, Stewart was a Team Member on the WKA Canadian National Team for the first time. He held a number of positions at various times on the National Team: Member (1998, 2001-2003, 2005, 2008-2012); Captain (2003, 2009-2012); Coach (2002-2013); and President (2009-2012).[1] Stewart was also a Member of the WAKO National Team for four years (2003, 2005, 2007, 2013). Additionally, in 2013 Stewart served as President of both the WKU and WTKA/WKA Canadian National Teams, and participated as a Team Member in the latter.[1][2] Aside from competing, Stewart has also had significant success as a coach. Between 2002 and 2013, Stewart personally trained and coached over 20 youth and adult students to World Titles with the WKA/WKU.[1]

Corporate career

Stewart began his entrepreneurial career at an early age. In 1996, he started a landscaping business called "Ultimate Lawns". After graduating from college, Stewart took ownership of Steve Anderson Karate and Kick Boxing, a facility in the Ottawa area which he owned for several years between 2000 and 2007. In 2004, Stewart also incorporated Spring Masters - now known as Canadian Property Stars - a property maintenance services provider.[1] Since founding it in 2004, Stewart has expanded Canadian Property Stars across Canada and the United States. Stewart’s success with Canadian Property Stars earned him a spot in the Ottawa Business Journal in 2013, as he became a recipient of the Forty under 40 award.[3]

In 2008 Stewart published his first book titled “Millionaire in 90 Days ‘Working out at the Gym’". The book centres around Stewart’s successes in martial arts and as an entrepreneur.[4]
