James P Honey
James P Honey is a poet, rapper, singer, guitarist and songwriter born in England on 28 December 1982.
James P Honey is a singer and poet who has been likened to Leonard Cohen[1] and Nick Cave[2] and is the lead singer of London based folk band A Band Of Buriers
Career
James started his career as an alternative rapper and performance poet, touring Europe and America for 7 years. During that time, he released six albums:
- Volume 3 [EP] (2008, Milled Pavement Records) with Zoen
- Hugely Overrated by a Tiny Few (Milled Pavement Records)
- Rough Tongue Surfaces (Milled Pavement Records)[3] with James Reindeer
- Estetik (Leave Music)[4] with Audio88
- Float (CTC Records)[5] with Absurd
In 2008 James co-founded the record label and art collective Decorative Stamp, described by Spoonfed as "A brilliant brigade of musicians, artists and film-makers"[6] on which he released Bird Irony, Dreamers Are Insomniacs and a live album entitled Mausoleum Handout.[7]
In 2010 James started the alternative folk band A Band Of Buriers[8] with cellist Jamie Romain.
James P Honey has featured on many collaborations and compilations including:
- One By One EP with 2econd Class Citizen on Equinox Records.[9] This EP also featured Fake Four founder Ceschi.
- Wille Und Wann with Epilog And Misanthrop on Post Rap Records.[10]
- Handful Of Crumbs with Oskar Ohlson on Knertz Records.[11]
