Janet Marsico Mills (ca. 1921 in Norwalk, Connecticut – 1991 in Norwalk, Connecticut) was a Republican member of the Connecticut House of Representatives from Norwalk, Connecticut's 140th House district.
Early life and family
She was born and raised in Norwalk.[3] She married David W. Mills after he came back from serving in World War II in 1945.
Political career
Mills was President of the Norwalk Republican Women's Association, President of the Norwalk Taxpayer's League, a member of the coalition for Children and Youth, Inc., a member of the Education and Housing for Fairfield 2000 organization and the State Legislative Task Force on Interracial Adoption.[2] She served as a Commissioner of the Norwalk Housing Authority from 1983 to 1987, including as Vice-Chairman.[2]
She made her first attempt at elected office in 1982 against incumbent Democrat John Atkin,[4] but was defeated.
She tried again in 1984, and defeated Atkin for the seat.
She was defeated for re-election in 1986 by Douglas Mintz.[5]
