Jeremy is the Founder and Portfolio Manager at Irving Investors,[1][2] a growth fund focused on disruptive technologies.[3] At Irving, Jeremy manages a long/short equity and credit portfolio that also participates in private investment opportunities. Irving is sector agnostic and focuses on high growth companies.[4]
Early Life
Jeremy started his career in marketing, which led to several start-ups in the digital media space. Irving Investors was launched in 2009 after two successful exits.[4]
Career Developments
In 2005, Jeremy founded Urban Hostess to serve as a middleman between Manhattan’s brokerage firms and young professionals entering the New York market. Urban Hostess established relationships with Fortune 500 companies, including JP Morgan, UBS and Deutsche Bank, to handle the relocation of new recruits.[5]
Jeremy was also the founder and CEO of Pocket Change, an online luxury newsletter[6][7] about the most expensive things in New York.[8][9][10] Pocket Change was devoted to tracking down the most expensive indulgences in categories ranging from hot dogs to helicopter rides.[11] Pocket Change also covered the costliest burger in the city, the $175 Richard Nouveau Burger at the Wall Street Burger Shoppe,[8] named after Richard Nouveau, Pocketchange's fictional mascot.[12]
Pocket Change was acquired in 2008 by thelab, an ad agency[13] in New York. Abelson then launched a new production shop called Samson’s Barber as the exclusive digital arm within thelab.[14]

Abelson has contributed as an expert on Fox Business News, CNN, CNBC, The NYTimes, The WSJ and more. He also speaks at NYU, Columbia Business School and the NY Media Summit.[4]
Personal life
Jeremy is originally from San Mateo and graduated from The University of Michigan.[4]
