Biography
Jigme Dorje Palbar Bista was born in Lo-Manthang Palace in Upper Mustang in Himalayan Range of Nepal. He was third son of Colonel H.H. Sri Sri Sri Raja Angun Tenzing Trandul, King of Mustang. He was educated privately at Shigatse, Tibet. He was appointed as Heir Apparent recognised by Nepal Government in 1959 A.D. He succeeded as Head of Royal House of Lo and title of Lo-rGyal-po and King of Mustang on the death of his father in 1964 A.D. Bista is the title given by King of Nepal which means distinguished/baron in Nepali language and not the Nepali family name Bista. He was member of Raj Sabha between (1964–1990) and Lieutenant Colonel of Nepal Army (1964).
He married a noble lady from Shigatse, Tibet H.H. Rani Sahiba Sidol Palbar Bista in around 1950s. He had one son who died young and then since adopted his nephews. [2]
