Jim Umpleby is an American businessman. He will be the CEO of Caterpillar Inc. in Peoria, Illinois starting January 2017.
Biography
Early life
Umpleby was raised in Highland, Indiana and attended Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.[1] He graduated with a Bachelor's degree in 1980.
Career
Umpleby joined Caterpillar shortly after his college graduation in 1980 when they purchased Solar Turbines, Inc.
