Jimmy Hartnett
James Benedict "Jimmy" Hartnett (21 March 1927 in Dublin, - December 1988) was an Irish former professional footballer who played as a left winger.[1]
He won two caps for the Republic of Ireland national football team, making his debut on 12 June 1949 in a 4-1 friendly defeat to Spain in Dalymount Park . His only other appearance did not come until five years later when he appeared in a 1-0 win over Luxembourg in a World Cup qualifying game on 7 March 1954 at the Municipal Stadium, Luxembourg .
During his club career he played for Dundalk, Middlesbrough, Barry Town, Hartlepool United and York City. He has 5 children: Patrick, Christina, James, Nicholas and Sharon. He has 8 grandchildren: Sarah, Laura, Michael, Heather, Megan, Rebecca, Adam and Luke.
