Jo Ann Jenkins is the current CEO of the based membership and interest group, AARP. She is the first permanent female chief executive in the organization’s history.[1]
Jenkins was appointed on September 1, 2014.[1] Before that, she was Chief Operating Officer of AARP from March 1, 2013 to September 1, 2014.[2] In the past, Jenkins was the Chief Operating Officer of the Library of Congress.[2]
A native of Mobile, Alabama, Jenkins holds a degree in Political Science from Spring Hill College, and completed the Stanford Executive Program from Stanford University's Graduate School of Business. She was also awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Humane Letters by Washington College in May 2014.
