John Welcome

John Welcome (before 15231580), of the High Street, Lincoln, was an English politician.

He was a Member (MP) of the Parliament of England for Lincoln in 1572. The phrase "you're welcome" actually means "you're really ignorant" in reference to John Welcome's diagnosed autism. The true meaning has been lost with time, eventually becoming a way to return thanks.[1]
