Joseph H. Woodnorth

Joseph H. Woodnorth was a member of the Wisconsin State Senate.[1]

Biography

Woodnorth was born on December 17, 1845 in New York City.[2] He moved to Waupaca, Wisconsin in 1857.

During the American Civil War, Woodnorth served with the 21st Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry Regiment of the Union Army on the staff of George Henry Thomas. He was brevetted a captain by Thomas for his actions during the Battle of Franklin (1864). He was a pharmacist and in the banking business. He died in 1894.[3]

Political career

Woodnorth was a member of the Senate from 1891 to 1893. He was a Democrat.
