Dr. jur. Julius Josef Engelbert Peter Beckmann[Note 1] (9 May 1910 – 28 August 1944) was a highly decorated Oberst of the Reserves in the Wehrmacht during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Julius Beckmann was killed 28 August 1944, during the Second Jassy–Kishinev Offensive. He was posthumously promoted to Oberst der Reserve.
